Most of them assembled around Nepal Telecom stall for the free SIM card and their hope for some offers. Some of the most popular stalls were for ISPs. Internet service providers (like Worldlink, Subisu, Vianet, websurfer) were providing several offers for their internet services. Similarly, Computer brands like Dell, Intel, Lenovo, Asus have also nice people accumulation there.
Smartphone/tablet maker like Samsung, Huawei, Micromax, Karbonn, Sony have showcased their latest smartphones, tablets with some offers. There was huge no of Computer accessories sellers where people bought items like pen drive, SD card, selfie stand, webcam, headphones, Bluetooth speaker, mouse etc.
Offers and Discounts
Nepal Telecom provided free prepaid Sim card, by which you could get a Sim card with Rs 100 balance by filling a form and paying Rs 100. Internet providers had a multitude of subscription packages for different kinds of internet services like WiFi, cable, fiber optics etc. Price of smartphones are even slashed for the special CAN offer by Huawei, Karbonn, Micromax.
Among all, it seems accessories traders did big business in the event. But you need to be careful in selecting the non-branded accessories, as they could be a fake item. The haat bazar was indeed bizarre for moving and selecting the right accessories items.
We hope the annual trade show can do a lot in terms of educating people for digital stuff. But the show always fails high in doing so. We can expect the organizer Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) to improve in the coming years show.
