The free service (for one week) came very usefully during that hard time. People also say the prompt decision taken by NTC management for free phones (including international calls), SMS and internet service in their mobile is remarkable.
Some of the online portals falsely reported that the used balance will be charged once the subscribers top up their balance. Nepal Telecom made it clear that the free service was for the whole week. They even tried to let customers with zero balance use their services but later went back due to possible misunderstanding later.
