March 31, 2016: Nepal Telecom is upgrading the existing network in Butwal, Bhairahwa and Pokhara. As a part of the package B of the ambitious 10 M GSM project, NT is replacing the old 2G ZTE BTS with Huawei BTS whereas 3G network in the region was already brought a year ago. With the swap of the 2G BTS, customers will have good voice quality in 2G and the 2G data speeds will increase significantly due to the upgraded features and capacity.
What to do if you encounter any problem during the upgrade?
It is also known that there may be some problem during the swap time. For that, customers need to switch off/On at least once and wait patiently for sometime, but NT requests them to contact nearest NT office if the problem persists for long.
It is already a month that the swapping or upgrading program is being done in the Western development region. Customers in Butwal, Bhairahawa and Pokhara city will be benefited with the new 2G network which has got good response till now and also people prefer to be in 2G for most of the time. It is also known the swapping of such old 2G tower be done in other parts of the country.
