Nepal Telecom which recently resumed the data roaming service has brought a data roaming pack for India. There are three types of data roaming pack for Ntc GSM customers like daily, weekly and monthly.
The daily roaming pack of 100 MB can be used for 24 hours while the weekly roaming pack of 500 MB is valid for 7 days. Finally, you can also get 1 GB data volume roaming pack valid for 28 days.
The company offers the data roaming pack to its GSM prepaid and postpaid customers. Customers need to activate international roaming service to use the data roaming pack. First, you need to enable the international roaming service by dialing *1415# and select the roaming in case of Prepaid. Whereas for Postpaid, you need to visit the Nepal Telecom customer center for activation.
After activating the international roaming, you need to dial *1415# and select the different roaming pack, after visiting the roaming country (India) and getting connected to the local network. You can also get those roaming pack choices from the Nepal Telecom mobile app (which should be installed and pre-registered).
You can also subscribe to the data roaming pack by sending a message to 1415. The keyword for daily, weekly and monthly roaming packs are INDRM1D, INDRM7D, and INDRM28D respectively.
Cost of the data roaming pack
Regarding the cost of the data roaming pack in Ntc, now available for India only, here are the details.
- Daily pack of 100 MB at Rs 100
- Weekly pack of 500 MB at Rs 450
- Monthly pack of 1 GB at Rs 900
All the prices mentioned above are inclusive of government taxes. NTC will provide more of such affordable data roaming pack to more countries. Here, the cost per MB data volume is nearly equal or even less than that of local data browsing of Rs 1 per MB. Without the data pack, the data roaming costs Rs 10 per MB. So, if you are using the data roaming service, we recommend you use the data roaming pack for India and more countries to come later.
