Nepal Telecom has requested its customers not to share the details of several codes with others. They also request to keep it safe as it will not only affect personal privacy but also affect the usage of telecom services.
There are several codes for NTC customers like Activation code, OTP (One time password), Security Code, Pin number, etc. These are used by the operator to authenticate the user either one time or for life. Some of these codes will also enable others to get access to your private account.
What can happen if others get such codes?
The consequences of sharing/losing such codes are quite fatal. If others get the private code of yours, they can do harm to your account. You might end up losing all of your balance or get terminated. For example, if you send the OTP code for your mobile app, they can easily transfer the balance from your account to others. Well, this exact scenario has occurred as some group of people expert in persuading people to send the OTP, tempting them for free data packs or free balance.
Such codes will also enable others to access your account and you will lose your privacy. Some code if it reaches the wrong hand, can also close your phone number account in the worst case.
So do you want to take all those risks by providing such codes in any condition to others? Of course not!!! We would also like to request people not limited to Ntc customers to keep their codes safe, without making it accessible to others.
Nepal Telecom issues a notice in the interest of the customers so that they won’t fall prey to these fakers. They have created awareness in people as various incidents have had happened recently. Before Ntc had also warned people of one ring faked missed call called Wangiri Scam.
Tell us if you are asked to share such codes of Ntc with anyone?? Now with all those risks, will you ever share such codes to others, in any circumstances? Do comment below.
