The sub-brand of Xiaomi, Redmi is well known for the entry-level and mid-level of devices. Redmi has introduced the cheapest but completely wireless new generation headphone, deemed as the Redmi AirDots. It has already launched in China and India, however, AirDots has not launched officially in Nepal yet. Xiaomi Nepal is planning to introduce the youth generation earbuds soon in Nepal. But it could be either Redmi Airdots or Mi Airdots.
Mi Nepal has launched Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro today in Nepal and either of the AirDots expected to arrive in Nepal via official channel soon. Redmi AirDots is already available in Nepal via unofficial channels and is found in Online shopping sites like SastoDeal and Daraz.
Redmi AirDots Overview
The new earbuds have a Realtek RTL8763BFR chip with the 7.2mm audio driver which makes the connection fast and smooth, as well as the audio drive, helps to play music smooth and softer. Availability of 7.2 mm moving coil drive unit and DSP intelligent in AirDots helps to reduce the unwanted noises.
Talking about its appearance, it weighs only 4.1 grams which do not provide heavy loads to your ear and there is no fear of falling down. Moreover, it consists of the physical button on either of earbuds which you can press a single time to play music and double-tap activate the voice assistant, for instance, Google Assistant.
The new edition earbuds equipped with the 40 mAh battery whereas the charging box capacity is 300 mAh. As per Xiaomi’s claims, 40 mAh battery offers the 4 hrs of life and 300 mAh box offers the 12 hours of life from the single charge. The interesting trait of this AirDot is Bluetooth 5.0 that makes the connectivity very fast and stable. The price of the latest earbuds entices most of the customers.

Redmi AirDots is the low price competitor of Apple AirPods, Comparing to the Apple AirPods, Xiaomi came out with lots of better features like better noise cancellation and sound quality but AirDots may lag behind in term of battery and connectivity.
Apple says the AirPods last up to 5 hours while Airdot can last 4 hours. If you are the iPhone user you don’t need to carry extra cable for AirPods as it uses the cable of iPhone charger. AirDots use a micro USB cable so you need to carry extra cable if you have the type C data cable. However, these earphones offer almost a similar range – about 12 meters or 40 feet for the AirPods and about 10 meters or 32 feet for the Airdots.

Price and Availability
It is an unbelievable fact that the Redmi has introduced the cheapest wireless earbuds which cost about INR 1400 in the Indian market. Apple recently launched the improved Apple AirPod 2.0 at the price tag of 250$ which is approximately 30,000 NPR. The similar-looking AirDots costs almost 20 times cheaper, which is a great offering from Xiaomi.
The actual price of Redmi Airdots in China is 99 Yuan. The price of AirDots in India is INR.1350 which roughly converts to NPR 2000. The Redmi AirDots are already available in Nepal via unofficial channels but are priced high as compared to the Indian market. We can expect the price of Redmi AirDots in Nepal to be around 2000 after the official launch.
In the nutshell, AirDots is a great deal. You are getting almost the same feature that the Apple AirPods have at the cheapest price.
