Nepal Telecom (NTC) has organized a program in its central office to celebrate the 16th anniversary. With several programs and offers, Ntc held the event in the presence of MoCIT Minister Mr. Gokul Prasad Baskota, Nepal Telecom’s Board Chairman Mr. Dipak Subedi, NTA chairman Mr. Purshottam Khanal, Ntc MD Mr. Dilli Ram Adhikari, employees and partners/distributors.
Minister Mr. Gokul Prasad Baskota expressed his delight for successfully expanding 4G service to all 77 districts. He said the reason behind the achievement is giving priority for the implementation of big projects in Ntc. He also directed the company to complete the FTTH project in time and satisfy customers by providing good quality service.
Similarly, Chairman of Nepal Telecom board and Secretary of MoCIT Mr. Dipak Subedi expressed his view to provide appropriate, smart services based on the latest technologies and good quality as per the expectation of people. He also said Nepal Telecom will implement its plan and provide good quality in winning the hearts of people in this competitive market.
NTA chairman Mr. Purushottam Khanal was more focused on the utilization of RTDF fund as there are several projects in the Mid-Hill information highway awarded to Ntc. He also expressed his satisfaction with the current progress of the optical fiber project along the Mid-Hill highway. He also believed Ntc to be ready to share its unused infrastructure with other providers.
Nepal Telecom MD Mr. Dilli Ram Adhikari put forward the current progress of the company while proudly claims 4G expansion to all districts within a year of the 4G contract. He said the migration of PSTN phones (landline) to FTTH will also be implemented on priority.

Here are some of the points Mr. Adhikari expressed in his speech.
- 4G project: Despite the huge challenges, Ntc is implementing the 4G network expansion to meet the ambitious target. The 77 district 4G coverage within a year is attainable due to the enormous effort of all including its employees. NTC will complete the operation of the remaining eNodeB to provide high-speed mobile data service in all parts of the country. Even after the completion of the planned 4G towers, Ntc will continue efforts to upgrade the capacity of the 4G network based on Traffic demand/analysis, Radio network planning, and optimization.
- New Tower: Ntc could install 340 new towers in the last year. Their focus to expand mobile service in remote areas will also remain in further days.
- FTTH: Nepal Telecom is also focusing its another key project of Fiber internet to home (FTTH). As they already got the equipment required for the FTTH expansion in the current FY, they will now migrate existing Landline and ADSL lines to FTTH service. Now, Ntc FTTH service is available in 57 exchanges of 28 districts. They now have 36 thousand fiber internet customers in the country whereas the network capacity shoots up to 1 lakh and 45 thousands.
- Mid-hill information highway: Utilizing the RTDF fund, Nepal Telecom is also laying optical fiber along the Mid-hill highway of Province 1, 2, and 3. Ntc expresses it commitment to finish the National Pride Project within the stipulated time. Currently, DWDM equipment and routers are being installed in the nodes. Similarly, the contracts work for the optical fiber along Karnali and Far western regions are underway.
- Optical fiber expansion: With the completion of 1000 km ADSS fiber laying, Ntc reached 66 districts with fiber backbone connectivity. For the remaining districts, Ntc will install a high-capacity backbone network and more infrastructure to aid in the development of Digital Nepal.
- New projects: To modernize its equipment and network, Nepal Telecom has planned for more projects like Business intelligence system, Security system, GIS system, NOC with preference.
- Mobile Money: Nepal Telecom is also working to implement Mobile money service in partnership with Rashtriya Banijya Bank (RBB).
NTC MD also has a firm belief in meeting customers’ demand for new services based on the latest technology and affordable rates. For which, he considers the efforts of Management and all employees are instrumental in achieving the target.
Ntc 16th anniversary offer
Nepal Telecom also provided several offers to its customers on the occasion of its 16th anniversary. Some of the Ntc offers include huge data packs of 30 GB and 60 GB at Rs 1600 and Rs 3000 valid for 90 and 180 days respectively. Similarly, they have brought a postpaid pack at Rs 300 which provides 620 minutes voice or 3000 MB data for 30 days.

More offers include a bonus on recharge where customers will get a data bonus on the recharge of above Rs 200 . For the recharge of Rs 200 or up to Rs 499, customers will get 200 MB data, while the recharge of Rs 500 to Rs 999 will provide 500 MB data and Rs 1000 or above recharge provide bonus data of 1000 MB. The bonus on recharge is also available for all recharges via cards or MPOS.
Ntc even launched its new updated website to provide information about all of its services, make recharge online, provide details on the tariff, etc. Using their website, Nepal Telecom will provide an online recharge facility to its customers in partnership with Nabil bank. Customers can recharge their accounts and pay bills using the Master card, Visa card debit/credit cards.
In the program, MoCIT Minister inaugurated a magazine named Smarika which is the annual publishing of the company for articles and happenings in the company. Several employees, distributors, and partners were also awarded in the program.
While the official program was running, one of the trade unions in the company NTCWU silently demonstrated their demands with placards.
