Huawei recently hosted a webinar on “The Future of the Mobile App Industry” for Institute of Engineering (IoE) students. The session held on 26th October, 4:00 PM was the joint collaboration between Huawei Technologies and the Institute of Engineering. The initiative was part of Huawei’s digital talent development ecosystem campaign.
Among the speakers was Associate Professor Dr. Basanta Joshi from IoE, CEO of Huawei Nepal, Mr. Zhang Xiaoxiang (William), Mr. Murali V, and Associate Vice President of Huawei India. Besides, Mr. Abhishek, System Architect from Huawei India, and Mr. Rebanta from Huawei India also shared their input.
Mr. Rebanta moderated Huawei’s webinar and it was streamed via Facebook. This gave an opportunity to many aspiring ICT students and members from IoE to familiarize themselves with the expert team via social media.
Huawei’s Plans For Nepal’s Digital Growth
CEO of Huawei Nepal, Mr. Zhang Xiaoxiang (William) shed light on the company’s contribution to Nepal. He also maintained that Huawei has plans to train digital talent to accentuate Nepal’s digital economy.
Meanwhile, Dr. Basanta Joshi from IoE extended his gratitude to the tech giant for the collaboration and affirmed a long-term association with Huawei. He also called on the students to get the most out of the webinar.

Huawei’s Webinar: Sharing Tech With Students
Huawei’s webinar served as an ample platform for the speakers to familiarize Huawei’s tech with students. The speakers took their turn to share their expertise on technologies and even demonstrated some of the techs with the students.
Mr.Murali V, Associate Vice-President, Huawei India also took his time to speak on a range of topics. He took on subjects from Huawei Mobile Services, its features, to the registration process for aspiring developers, and Huawei community contribution possibilities, and many others.
He also took time to illustrate the HMS – 5-week foundation course offered by Huawei. It is a free, instructor lead, training cum certification program to enrich the skill set of students and to make them industry-ready.
He then elaborated on the benefits of this program that could be vital for the faculty members as well. “Students who complete the certification and training program shall get industry ready and industry-relevant”, emphasized Mr. Murali.
Mr. Abhishek, System Architect took his turn explaining the technical capabilities of HMS. He quickly hovered through the toolkits supported by HMS that included the Machine Learning Kit, Scan Kit, Location Kit, etc. He also backed his sessions with quick demos.
In the end, he explained how to migrate existing apps to the HMS using plug-ins. The participants were requested to register and acquire the participation certificate.

Huawei Is a Key For Nepal’s Digital Vision
Huawei has a long presence in the ICT industry of Nepal from telecommunications to investments in other tech-related sectors.
