Indian OTT platform ALTBalaji has entered Nepal with Telenet to cater its video-on-demand entertainment to Nepali audiences.
In Nepal, Telenet will facilitate Nepali viewers with online payments through digital wallets, telecom operators, and payment gateways. The Kathmandu-based IT company will also act as its distributor and promoter in Nepal.
ALTBalaji is known for blockbusters like Apharan, Married Woman, among others. The evolving platform has added nine shows in the first half of India’s FY 22. Likewise, Nepali viewers can watch web series, movies, and originals by paying through Telenet’s coordinated gateways.
ALTBalaji currently serves 89+ Indian originals to its viewers.

ALTBalaji in Nepal to “ensure high-quality engaging content”
OTT platforms have grown tremendously popular in recent years. The digital platform is more popular among the young demography with smartphones and fast broadband. Entertainment on the go and its availability on various handheld devices have made it popular with increasingly cheaper broadband internet.

AS OTT continues to grow, Indian platforms are eyeing to cash in on it. LIkewise, ALTBalaji’s entry into Nepal will be a stepping stone for the Indian VoD platform.
Divya Dixit, SVP – Marketing & Revenue, ALTBalaji says the OTT’s Nepal entry is a significant step towards tapping into new markets. How To Pay for ALTBalaji OTT in Nepal?
Nepali subscribers of ALTBalaji will have multiple options for payment at the courtesy of Telenet Private Limited. The viewers can pay for their subscription via wallets such as eSewa, Khalti, IME Pay, or SalePay.
ALTBalaji’s contents are also affordable in Nepal coming for just Rs.299 (incl. taxes) per month.
Likewise, Nepali subscribers can watch ALTBalaji’s contents on smartphones, laptops, smart TV or tablets. Also, remember that a single user can create up to 5 different profiles.
Earlier, Telenet also brought SonyLIV OTT subscription in Nepal. As a lot of OTT platforms are entering Nepal, we can also expect the popular Netflix, Amazon Video to come here soon officially.
