Leading online marketplace Daraz Nepal has announced the Proudly Nepali Initiative that aims at promoting local brands of Nepal.
Unlike other campaigns, this one mainly focuses on highlighting and promoting Nepali brands. This campaign is giving a push to domestic companies which are delivering top quality goods and services in Nepali market.
This new initiative is in line with Daraz’s core values and mission of “uplifting communities through the power of commerce.”
The idea of focusing on localized products promotion solidified with the appointment of Daraz’s new Managing Director Ms. Aanchal Kunwar in February.
A long running project, part of Daraz’s new vision
Daraz says it aims to move ahead with localized business strategy across five markets in the region. The proudly Nepali campaign aligns with that vision.
Besides, the eCommerce leader says Proudly Nepali is not a one-time campaign. Rather, it will be a long running project that will continue throughout the year.
This project will directly assist Nepali local brands and sellers to increase their market presence online. This will significantly help them reach out to their buyers and run business online in growingly digital age.
Likewise, the Proudly Nepali initiative follows other past campaigns such as Daraz Sahayatri and Sarathi. These two campaigns drew in record numbers of businesses. Daraz says over 11.000 sellers shifted their businesses online through those two previous campaigns.
With this new local brands promotion campaign, Daraz hope to aid Nepali brands increase their market stature and visibility online and leap to new heights with online business.

Brands in Proudly Nepali Campaign
Various Nepali brands have tied in to this project already. You will be seeing a curated list of top local brands showcasing their producsts on Daraz. The list ranges from Fuloo, Juas, Virjeans to CG Digital and Goldstar etc.
Daraz says this campaign offers customers a chance to learn and find more about products made in Nepal.
For an importing marketing, local brands do not receive as much visibility and trust as foreign companies. But, Proudly Initiative seeks to change the belief by motivating customers to consume quality goods and services.

In addition, Daraz has collaborated with FNCCI and SAWDF to form a strategic ecosystem and promote local brands.
