Nepal Telecom (NTC) has upgraded its 14 thousand customer’s service with advanced fiber internet ‘NT Fiber’ in Chitwan. The company replaced dated telephone technology with reliable fiber connections in five rural municipalities within the district.
As per the Ntc office in Bharatpur, the company has upgraded its traditional connection in all local bodies except Madi municipality, and Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality. Lately, the government-backed telco has prioritized service upgradation with a fiber system replacing its old copper-based services.
Out of the total, nine thousand customers were from Bharatpur Metropolitan to receive fiber internet connection, RSS wrote. Inside the city, only Kshetrapur, and Gauriganj are yet to get fiber installation. Around Bharatpur Exchange Western Chitwan, a few areas are left for a new service.
Chitawan has been a key market area for its service growth. During the conflict between Nta and private ISPs regarding poles rental charges, Ntc was able to draw a high volume of new customers seeking its fiber internet connection.
Bharatpur Ntc office in-charge Nabin Kumar Mishra says there are only 1 thousand, and 97 customers on older connections. But he shared that they are soon going to receive fiber service.
“Due to the lack of equipment, we are not able to proceed. We are waiting for the supply, and they are coming from China,” he shared. The company has a plan to complete fiber installation by Mangsir in the areas under Bharatpur Exchange.
At the moment, Ntc is installing fiber connections in Bhandara, Rapti Municipality. Ratnanagar, Khairahani, and Kalika Municipality have all been connected by the same type of connection.

Ntc fiber internet service in Chitwan is receiving high demand
“The demand for our fiber internet service has steadily increased in the district. Our service is cheaper and better than what private companies offer. This is the key reason, customers are attracted to our service,” Mr. Mishra said.
Another selling point for Ntc is that with fiber internet, the company also provides TV, and telephone service also called “Triple Play“. Conveniently, subscribers get all three services with a single fiber cable. Ntc is the sole company in Nepal offering such a service.
Besides, the company has cache servers in Kathmandu and Hetauda. That helps Google, YouTube, and Facebook load faster on their fiber connection.
Ntc is Nepal’s largest telecom company that provides both cellular and fixed-line internet services among others. Despite the cutthroat competition among the ISPs and the internet speed war, the government-backed company has remained unaffected. In fact, the company has steadily added new customers every month.
