A call center will be established at Tribhuvan International Airport, (TIA) Kathmandu to provide information and updates pertaining to the tragic Yeti plane crash in Pokhara. The decision is taken by the government of Nepal after the Pokhara-bound Yeti Airlines aircraft with the registration number 9N-ANC flying from Kathmandu crashed today Sunday, January 15, 2023, in Pokhara, Kaski.
An emergency meeting of the Council of Ministers (CoM) called by hon’ble PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” decided to set up a call center. It will be for service for families, relatives, and others to receive reliable information about the fate of their close ones who were onboard the ill-fated plane.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel informed about the government’s decision to start the call center.
Likewise, CoM has formed a five-member commission for the probe under the coordination of former secretary Nagendra Ghimire. Also, it has made it mandatory for a technical test of all domestic flights before they take off. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) will carry out the tests of planes so as to avert future mishaps.

The call center at the Tribhuvan International Airport has two phone numbers available to receive updates on the crash of the ATR-72 plane of Yeti in Pokhara. From the airport’s Civil Aviation Office, there is a phone number 01-4113163. People can also call 9801007531 which belongs to Pemba Sherpa from Yeti Airlines.

68 onboard confirmed dead
The plane had 72 people onboard including 4 crew members. Sadly so far, CAAN has confirmed 68 of those deaths.
The plane had taken off from TIA at 10:32 am. Its last communication with Air Traffic Control took place at 10:50 am. The plane crashed soon after the pilot Kamal KC received the clearance to land the plane on runway 12.
