Nepal Telecom (NTC) and Namaste Pay have collaborated for the bill payment of the telco’s services via the wallet’s QR code. The company began the service from its counters in the Sundhara and Babarmahal counters. As a promotional offer, the beneficiaries of the service will get 10% cash back on the digital transaction.
The electronic payment facility will relieve users of bank visits to withdraw cash for payments. Ntc customers will be able to easily pay for their services with the fast-growing Namaste Pay app.
The mobile payment facility was inaugurated at an event in Sundhara and Babarmahal. Sabina Maske Pradhan, Director of Nepal Telecom, Regional Directorate Kathmandu, Bagmati Province, and Pravin Raj Pokharel, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nepal Digital Payments Company (NDPC/Namaste Pay) exchanged the agreement papers for the partnership.
Director Pradhan debuted the service by paying a bill through Namaste Pay. He shared afterward, ‘Ntc has initiated the first step to promote digital payments at its counters. The facility will enable customers to pay their bills using Namaste Pay’s QR code.” He continued, “This will reduce the hassle for the customers of going to the bank to withdraw cash and will also help make bill payment easier and faster.”

Pravin Raj Pokharel, NDPC CEO shared similar delight. “We are happy to start digital payment services and we are encouraged to cooperate more in the future. The service will play a significant role in the goal of creating a cashless society. Providing simple and secure digital payment services through using modern technologies will play a significant role in providing modern financial services to banks and all consumers who have or don’t have access to digital technology.”
Likewise, Krishna Prasad Bhandari, outgoing CEO of NDPC, Shalikram Subedi, Manager of Information System Associate Directorate, and Dinesh Chandra Panthi, Head of Telecommunication Office, Sundhara, also shared their happiness about the launch of the service. They also shared some necessary information about the mobile payment service.

For now, users will be able to pay bills for Ntc services with the Namaste Pay QR code at the telco’s Sundhara and Babarmahal counters. The company says that it will extend the service to other offices in the near future.
The payment service comes with a promotional cashback offer too. The early users will receive a 10 percent cashback into their Namaste Pay accounts while paying through the mobile wallet’s QR code.
Namaste Pay digital wallet is the product of a collaboration between Nepal Telecom and Rastriya Banijya Bank.
