Nepal Telecom has started FTTH fiber internet service in Dhankuta, Tehrathum, Sankhuwasabha, and Bhojpur. The company’s Dhankuta branch upgraded the capacity of its network via ADSS (All Dielectric Self Supporting) cable and began 4G and fiber internet services in the four hilly districts of eastern Nepal.
This became possible after an underground 100 Gbps fiber transmission line reached the district. Now, the customers of Ntc will get high-speed and reliable internet service powered by the next-generation fiber technology.
Ntc office chief of Dhankuta, Suman Acharya said that Ntc expanded its fiber internet to Hile Bazaar, Dhankuta, Mulghat, Sindhuwa Bazaar of Chhatharjorpati Rural Municipality, Bhedetar Bazaar of Sagurigadhi Rural Municipality. Additionally, Pakhribas Municipality and Chaubise Rural Municipality will also get the fiber connection in FY 2080/81.
Likewise, in Sankhuwasabha, Khadbari, and Tumlingtar, Mudheshnishchare of Dharmadevi Municipality has now received fiber internet. The expansion work for Chainpur Municipality will begin this year.
At the moment, Ntc has installed a 100 Gbps fiber line from Itahari to Hile of Dhankuta, and it runs from Myanglung of Tehrathum to Phidim of Pachthar and Birtamod of Jhapa. The line runs to Itahari again. Therefore, it serves as a backup to keep the internet working when a problem occurs in any area.
