Nepal’s state-backed telecom company Nepal Telecom shortly NTC or NT has launched a 4G mobile network in the remote village of Gaumul in Bajura district. The company brought the fourth-generation cellular network by setting up towers in two areas at the local level enabling high-speed data, and HD voice for the locals.
The advanced mobile service came to the village after efforts from the Ntc office in Bajura. Now, the central area of the Gaumul rural municipality Ghatmuna and various other key wards have been connected by Ntc 4G.
Gaumul Rural Municipality Chairman Hari Bahadur Rokaya said that the local body’s long-lasting efforts finally succeeded in bringing the fourth-generation mobile network to the village. Likewise, Deputy Chairman Sita Thapa said that most key areas inside the village now have access to the 4G mobile services.
Ntc 4G enables customers to use high-speed broadband internet making it possible for video calls, video watching, and other uses. Similarly, users can also activate Ntc VoLTE and benefit from HD voice and data services simultaneously.

Ntc office Incharge of Bajura Lok Bahadur Khadka said that after a long time, Ntc was able to bring the 4G network to the village of Bajura district.
To bring the 4G connectivity, a 4G tower (base station) has been installed in upper Basala, ward 6 for coverage in wards no. 1, 2, and 3. Likewise, the infrastructure is set on the repeater tower of Gaumul Radio in Sateda to bring 4G coverage in ward no. 4, 5, and 6, Radio Nepal has reported.
Prior to this, the locals didn’t have a convenient service nearby for the internet. Therefore, they had to roam around and approach the hills for coverage. Now, the availability of a 4G network has removed such inconvenience. With it, they can connect with their family and friends abroad on their smartphones. However, the area still is in want of attention for improvement. The locals have thus urged the company to further expand 2G mobile service for higher coverage of communication.
So far, Ntc 4G coverage has reached 98% of local levels across Nepal. The company has prioritized high-quality service expansion ahead of profit and it’s bearing fruitful results. Digital inclusion has improved as more citizens experience the benefit of high-speed data and other digital services.
Currently, there are over 2.04 crore 4G users in Nepal with Ntc boasting 1.35 crore users. You must also know that Ntc 4G is carrier aggregated (CA). This means you get huge broadband speed on CA-compatible devices.
