Subisu Cable Net saw its total operating revenue stand over Rs 3 arab in FY 2079/80. The FTTH fiber internet provider saw its revenue decline by 8.13% compared to that in FY 2078/79. Care Ratings pinned the blame on the intense internet price war for the company’s financial downsize.
The prominent private internet service provider (ISP) drew a total operating revenue of Rs 3 arab, 46 crore, and 40 lakh in 2079/80. In comparison, the company generated Rs 3 arab, 77 crore, 10 lakh in FY 2078/79. Before that in FY 2077/78, the company netted Rs 3 arab, 51 crore, and 20 lakh for the revenue. As we can see, the ISP has seen its revenue numbers decline quite steeply over the years. Care Ratings states that the company’s falling revenue is due to the cut-throat competition in the internet market in Nepal. In recent years, each top IPS has geared up the race to provide faster speed packages at more affordable rates.
The speed and price war started with CG Net’s 120 Mbps internet and doesn’t seem to thaw. NTA though has called on ISPs to refrain from this unnecessary internet speed and price war. Also, the authority’s new chairman Bhupendra Bhandari himself has called it a risk to the internet industry too. However, prominent IPSs continue to feel the brunt of this raging competition among the service providers.
Subisu is Nepal’s pioneer of cable internet service. After this, the broadband internet provider further enhanced customer experience by transitioning to the next-generation FTTH fiber technology. Being one of the top-end IPSs, it’s also one of the few to provide 3-digit internet speed packages. Here, you can check out Subisu internet packages and prices [ Latest 2024]
