Nepal’s BLC Holdings and India’s Yotta Data Services Private Ltd. have reached a deal to construct the first-ever super cloud data center in Ramkot, Kathmandu, Nepal. The two struck up their cooperation on Sunday, April 28, during the inaugural session of the Nepal Investment Summit 2024. As per the agreement, the two will jointly construct a data center in Ramkot, Kathmandu. The total cost of the infrastructure has been estimated to stand around Rs 3 billion.
CEO of Yotta Sunil Gupta and BLC Managing Director (MD) Megha Chaudhary signed the agreement on behalf of their respective companies. While this is a crucial leap for Nepal in data centers, it also serves the Indian firm as a solid opportunity to tap into the Nepalese market. BLC Holding is owned by Chaudhary Group while Yotta Digital Services is a subsidiary of India’s conglomerate Hiranandani Group.
Both firms have called the collaboration a major milestone. Yotta said that it will utilize local resources, regulatory capacity, and local relationships as well as the customer network of BLC. Likewise, it says that it will reinforce Nepal’s access to its large platform enabling Nepal to have exposure to global expertise, international standards, advanced technologies, etc.

BLC Holdings and Yotta signed to build a Tier 3 data center in Kathmandu, Nepal
The data center will stretch across 11 ropani of land in Ramkot, Kathmandu. It will provide an IT load of up to 4 megawatts. It will be a modern and advanced infrastructure equipped with modern safety protocols. Additionally, it will offer services to both enterprise and hyperscale customers.
BLC Holdings and Yotta Data Services will construct Nepal’s first-ever “super cloud” tier 3 data center
It will be a Tier 3 infrastructure just like Ncell’s data center (IDC) in Kathmandu and has been named “K one”. It’s also going to be the first-ever super cloud data center in Nepal. Talking further about its features, the data center will follow a modular design style. It will have top uptime reliability, scalability, and flexibility.
BLC MD Chaudhary remarked that the K one data center in Ramkot, Kathmandu will develop an IT ecosystem. It will be designed by Global Hyper Scalers. Similarly, it will significantly enhance Nepal’s profile in the data center industry and help generate employment in the construction and IT industries. The agreement involves cooperation for the establishment of world-class data centers, cloud services, and artificial intelligence platform services in Nepal. Chaudhary later added that the cooperation with Yotta for the data center will ensure local cooperation and regulation and address Nepal’s challenges in data security.
As per its official site, Yotta has two operational data centers, Yotta NM1 at Navi Mumbai and Yotta D1 at Greater Noida, Delhi. The company is also working on a network of data centers across Indian cities such as Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat, etc.
