State-backed telecommunication giant Nepal Telecom (NTC) has migrated its copper-based PSTN telephone lines in areas where the services are distributed from the Sundhara office to Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) technology. The switch to fiber technology enables customers to enjoy high-speed fiber internet, voice, and IPTV services.
On Chaitra 22, 2080, Ntc Managing Director (MD) Mrs. Sangita Pahadi Aryal switched off the copper-backed telephone service formally marking the closure of older technology for the new and modern fiber one. Ntc has been busy upgrading its PSTN lines to FTTH technology in recent years. The FTTH technology renders services faster, more efficient, and reliable.
Ntc shut down its copper network in Sundhara after successfully migrating its telephone and ADSL lines to the FTTH network in the Sundhara area. Fiber is the next-generation technology in transmission that delivers high-quality services than copper.
At the event, the chief guest and managing director of the company, Mrs. Sangita Pahadi expressed her delight about copper-to-fiber migration in the Sundhara area. She was enthusiastic about the transition from older to modern fiber technology as per the demand of the time and the continuity of the technology in the telecom sector.
