Nepal Telecom (NTC) has launched its 4G network services in Patarasi Rural Municipality – 02 of Jumla district in the Karnali Province for the first time. The launch of the advanced mobile service marks the company’s another milestone as it continues to expand advanced telecommunication services in remote areas across the country.
NT set up a new site at Patarasi Rural Municipality – 02 on Mangsir 16 to launch its mobile services. Now, the Locals in the area have access to 2G and 4G services which provide reliable voice and mobile broadband services. Additionally, users can activate NTC’s VoLTE service to enjoy HD voice on cellular calls.

4G comes to Patarasi Rural MunicIpality of Jumla
After the 4G launch, various nearby villages in Patarasi are benefitting thanks to Nepal Telecom’s initiation. Villages such as Gadigau, Talfigau, Matachaur, Chhumchaur, etc. in wards no 1, 2, and 3 in Patarasi Rural Municipality now have direct and modern mobile connectivity in their hands. These are considered very remote areas.
NTC launched a 4G network in Poush 2073 with subsequent expansion across major cities. But in recent years, the company has highly prioritized expansion works in rural and remote areas. Even though the company sees less commercial value, it continues to extend 4G coverage to continue bridging the digital divide. Besides 4G, the company has also reached full coverage for its FTTH fiber internet service across 77 districts.
Did you know? NTC uses carrier aggregation on its base stations to provide higher quality and faster 4G broadband services. Thankfully, this technology is enabled at the majority of the company’s 4G sites.
The launch of modern telecommunications in remote areas not only helps the locals and businesses with communication but also enables tourists to connect when they visit these places. The same applies to all in Patarasi Rural Municipality in Jumla.
So far, NT has made its 4G service available across 98% of local levels. At the same time, NTA records show that the company has over 1.52 crore 4G users across Nepal.
