Private telco Ncell has announced its support for the WT20I triangular series, to empower women in cricket. The company partnered with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to be part of this project and also build up women’s talents in the sport.
Ncell’s cooperation with the WT20I is part of its ‘Here for You’ theme and commitment to cricket and sports development.
The tournament begins on January 30 at TU Cricket Ground Kirtipur. The spectators can enter the match for free to bring support for Nepal’s women’s cricket team throughout the series.
In the series, each team plays against another three times. Nepal hosts the Netherlands in the opening match. Further, Nepal will go against Thailand on February 01, the Netherlands on February 02, and Thailand on February 04. Again, the women’s cricket team will take to the field against the Netherlands on February 5, and against Thailand on February 7.
The team is playing under the captaincy of Indu Barma. Other members of the team playing are former captain Rubina Chhetri, Sita Rana Magar, Puja Mahato, Alisha Kumari Yadav, Bindu Rawal, Samjhana Khadka, Kabita Kunwar, Mamta Chaudhary, Kabita Joshi, Rewati Dhami, Roma Thapa, Rajmati Airee, Manisha Upadhyaya and Ishwari Bista.

Similarly, Ncell supported the 5th Tiger Cup, the ‘Triangular T20i Series 2024,’ ICC League 2, and the Nepal-Canada ODI Series. It has also supported football events such as the Birgunj Gold Cup and Jhapa Gold Cup.
Ncell also collaborates with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) through Ncell Foundation to support the national para-athlete team. The company rewarded Para Taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan for her historic win at the Paris Paralympics 2024. The telco rewarded her with Rs 1 million while also extending honors to other Paralympic team members with cash prizes.
