US-based Nepali tech venture Astro Veda Pvt. Ltd. has launched a new feature Explore into the popular AstroPod dating app. The feature lets you find people who share your interest in a particular event such as a concert or a movie which you can use to fix a date.
Launched in June 2022, the AstroPod app is a combination of modern-day smartphone tech and ancient matchmaking science catered to people trying to find their best match online.
The app is already popular with a million users worldwide, and it’s the first time the company has started the service in Nepal.
The company unveiled the app in Nepal at a ceremony in Radisson Hotel, Lazimpat. In the dearth of reliable dating apps, Astro Veda believes its app will help people find their perfect match with the help of astrology.
‘We launched the AstroPod dating app to share that experience. This app is different from other regular dating apps’, CEO Paribesh Koirala added, ‘This app comprises the facility of choosing perfect match designed on the basis of Vedic Astrological matchmaking. Moreover, one can have the facility of compatibility test before choosing the perfect partner.’
The initial idea was to start a software company to “make something for the world”. Initially, their aim was to build an Instant Messaging app to allow people to interact and come closer. It was back in 2014. But the idea fell short for the yet uninitiated team as it lacked a clear roadmap to execute its vision and draw revenues.

From astrology services to online dating app
However, they went on to start a software company and met Guru Samundra with whom they started offering astrological services to people around the globe. Now, their service has turned into an affluent company. The app now serves 1 million-plus users. The company has 40 professionals working hard to cater astrological matchmaking services to app users.

However, despite growing as a service provider, the team was not satisfied with their services. They felt the people still were not able “to know about themselves and the relationship with their partners.” This is how the idea of the AstroPod Dating – Made in Stars dawned upon them.
The app fulfills the team’s goal of allowing people to get in connection with their potential suitors. And this was only going to be possible with astrology than mere technology and idea. Using ancient Vedic science and fusing it with modern-day smartphone technology was the way to go.
“The stars above us do hold a spiritual significance in life and they do have something for the love between the love birds. Identifying them early is a great advantage and asset for people,” the company says in a statement.
