Viral iOS app Clubhouse arrived in Nepal after its global launch on Android and has already become the talk of the town. Learn what makes it so unique and how you can also sign up to it and get going.
The clubhouse is an audio-based chat app that landed on Android recently. It lets you listen to other people talk about a topic that you like to listen to. The app creates a virtual space for you to meet new people, make friends, and engage in deeper conversations about your favorite topics. Let’s know more about it in detail.
One Of Its Kind
To begin with, the Clubhouse is a novelty by virtue. It is based on audio-chat. There is no video or photo sharing. You are listening to other people delivering their opinions on certain topics. Unlike other social media, it feels premium and exclusive because it is invite based app. You need an invitation code to enter into the app.
The app has gone really well with business people and iconic entrepreneurs who have inspired a huge following for the app. The limited people’s use of the app itself lent it an enormous appeal.
Journalists, social activists, influencers, entrepreneurs, politicians all can be seen inside chat rooms sharing their opinions with hundreds of others. It can be really overwhelming that you can suddenly listen to someone or even share ideas with them you have not thought would be possible. Especially the youth demography has found it a fascinating space to reach out and share their voices with a wider audience.

High Brow to Low Brow
All sections of people are on Clubhouse. The lockdown has certainly enticed more audiences who want their time away from regular Facebook and TikTok. They want a new space to go vocal about their inner feelings and meet new people. The clubhouse has been the perfect fit for them to lay it bare.
Not only you can find the socially elite engaging in sophisticated discussions, but you will also find sections of teenagers ranting on their teachers reminiscing their college days. You can also find triflers with no-filter in mundane chitchats. The clubhouse can be a space for both high to low culture talks and its diversity is infinite. Different people different choices.
But the lockdown stress can translate into Clubhouse with a barrage of undesirable expressions. Users certainly must be warier of their words and emotions and restrain themselves from giving away too much. There is a possibility of abuse and vulgarism to an excess that can not be tolerable.
As there is no video sharing, everybody is invisible except their profile picture. Therefore, some of them in the audience may try to misuse ‘freedom of expression’. The discretion must be maintained. Try to avoid following anonymous and fake profiles.
