Hamro Patro Inc. has added an online shopping platform called Hamro Mart to its popular Hamro Patro app. Entering the eCommerce market, the company has introduced its in-app online shopping with a New Year 2081 offer. Let’s find out more.
Having just added artificial intelligence for personalized news, the country’s most downloaded multi-purpose app integrated online shopping service. Hamro Patro incorporated the eCommerce platform into its calendar app on the occasion of the New Nepali Year 2081. And already, it’s raising its engagements. Hamro Patro is one but there are many. Here are Nepal’s most popular apps by their value and features.
Rudra Pandey, Chairman of Hamro Patro in a LinkedIn post wrote that Hamro Mart is adding more goods to its online marketplace. He shared that it was the culmination of a year of 25-plus engineers. Expressing his belief that Hamro Mart will be the first to be Nepalese-made, he said that businesses will soon be able to open their own online stores on the Hamro Mart e-shopping platform. Referring to other eCommerce companies in Nepal, Pandey quipped that Alibaba (Daraz) runs on foreign software while Sastodeal which is “shutting down” also couldn’t develop its own software.
“What Hamro Patro does, it does best. We do not rush but definitely succeed. Soon every shopkeeper in Nepal will have a shop in Hamro Mart,” Pandey said. Hamro Patro seems very ambitious with its eCommerce plan as it says that the Hamro Mart is “designed to meet all your shopping needs on one convenient platform.” Currently, Hamro Patro has announced various offers for customers on shopping at Hamro Mart.

How to use Hamro Mart online shopping?
As stated above, Hamro Mart is an in-app eCommerce platform of Hamro Patro just like Hamro Pay. Therefore, Hamro Mart online shopping is available from the Hamro Patro app. That means, it doesn’t require a separate app to access it. Both Android and iOS users can easily access it on their devices. Besides, it’s also accessible on the web.
Hamro Patro has resources to sustain and grow its eCommerce business
Well, we recently had a post on how Nepal’s prominent eCommerce site Sastodeal is offline in the face of dominance from a few such as Daraz Nepal. So, being a small market with a limited “connected” populace, rising as an online marketplace is a tough deal. But to its credit, Hamro Patro is more than just a singular service provider.
Originally, Hamro Patro is a calendar app as the name implies, however, it’s an amalgam of services inside so, Hamro Mart will be another value addition for its avid users. Those who open the Hamro Patro app are met with over a dozen services including news, astrology, remittance, telemedicine, etc.
So, the newly launched online shopping gives another decent reason to continue using the already iconic Hamro Patro super app. More particularly, Hamro Mart runs on Nepalese-made software so, it only adds up to making it more resourceful and more likely to sustain and grow.
What’s your take on Hamro Patro launching its own online shopping platform? Will it be able to sustain and grow or will have a tough time due to the dominance of existing eCommerce giants? Do share your opinion in the comments below.
