ICT Award 2024 has concluded with a grand finale hosted at Hyatt Regency Hotel, Kathmandu. The country’s prominent tech award conferred honors to the recipients in 15 categories and also felicitated startups from across seven provinces.
The grand event was hosted amidst the presence of over 1000 experts. The communication minister Prithvi Subba Gurung was the chief guest at the annual award event who inaugurated the program by lighting up a lamp utilizing digital technology.
Communication Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung, Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission Prof. Dr. Shibaraj Adhikari, among others, presented the awards to the winners.
Speaking at the welcome address, ICT Award Chairman Razan Lamsal said that since 2016, the awards have reached beyond Nepal. He praised the role of the private sections in the development of information technology. He also, stressed that the government should make policy reforms and extend its role even further.
Similarly, Ambar Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of the Education, Health, and Information Technology Committee of the House of Representatives, stated that technology has connected the world, but in Nepal, IT has not yet developed as expected.
Similarly, Prof. Dr. Shivaraj Adhikari, Vice Chairman of the National Planning Commission, informed that the ICT Award is finding and bringing in talent from every corner of the country, and said that the government has also given priority to IT and startups.
Living with ICT has been organizing the ICT Award since 2016. It’s now the largest and the most prestigious tech award in the sector. The ICT Awards is also an official partner of international awards such as the WSA Awards and the Aurora Tech Awards.
The grand finale of the ICT Awards was broadcast live on Kantipur Television HD, Hamro Patro, the ICT Awards Facebook page, and YouTube channel, among other channels. InDrive, Ncell Foundation, NepalPay QR, Zoom, etc. were the main contributors to the success of the ICT Awards 2024 grand finale program.

ICT Award 2024 winners
- This year, the Pioneer ICT Award was received by Prof. Dr. Suresh Raj Sharma, the founder of Kathmandu University (KU).
- The Ncell Woman Icon Award was presented to Bandana Sharma. She is the head of the digital banking and cards department of Nepal Bank. The award honors her contributions to the ICT industry and promotes the female gender for their growingly important role in the field.
- Dr. Bishesh Khanal, Founder of Nami received the Professional Excellence ICT Award.
- Similarly, Manohar Adhikari, the founder of Foodmandu received the Entrepreneur ICT Award.
- Nami Baral, the co-founder of Niural Company was honored with the Nepali Diaspora ICT Award.
- The popular Startup ICT Award was claimed by Crimson Tech Company.
- The Social Innovation ICT Award 2024 was clinched by Geokrishi.
- Another popular award category – Product ICT Award was seized by API Management System.
- SpeakUp won the Rising Star Innovation ICT Award.
- Zapp Services won the Public Choice ICT Award.
- The regional international award – The South Asia Startup ICT Award 2024 was won by HyphenSCS from India. Besides, all the startups in the category who made it to the top 5 were also honored.
- In institutional award categories, the Supreme Court received the digital governance award.
- IME Pay won the Digital Services Award.
- The award also recognizes educational institutions for their digital technology incorporations. This year, Sukuna Secondary School, Morang, and LRI, Kalanki won the Digital Education ICT Award in public and private categories, respectively.
Best Startup from seven provinces
Additionally, the seven best startups from all seven provinces have been honored with the Province Startup ICT Recognition 2024. This year, Delta Tech Pvt. Ltd. from Koshi Province, Tejas Tech Pvt. Ltd. from Madhesh Province, Abhiyantrik Karmashala Pvt. Ltd. from Bagmati Province, Aakash Digital Pvt. Ltd. from Gandaki Province, Ninja Infosys Pvt. Ltd. from Lumbini Province, Business Online Services Pvt. Ltd. from Karnali Province, and Far West Infotech and Research Center from Sudurpaschim Province have been honored with the Province Startup ICT Recognition 2024.
