The leading private telecom operator Ncell has quietly started branding a new logo hinting at a new journey following Axiata’s departure. The new logo reflects the telco’s unmoved ambitions to continue its telecom services despite the shocking exit of its former owner.
The new logo carries the same signature color theme though it’s darker now. Some changes are conspicuous while some are only noticeable on careful observation.

Ncell is now using a new logo with that uses a new font after Axiata exit
The most apparent change in its official logo is the removal of Axiata’s logo that sat just above the letter “l” of Ncell. Now, there is just Ncell text representing the telco. On a deeper notice, the letter “c” now has a lengthier curve than what we saw in the previous logo. Essentially, the company has changed the font style which has resulted in other minor changes in how “Ncell” text looks now in its logo.
Besides, the slight curves on the letter “N”, and the last two “lls” are extending to the right. The base of the letter “N” is wider while the same the letters “lls” have also curves which was not the case previously. Even in social media, Ncell has embraced its new Ncell logo without the Axiata mark.

New website too!
After Axiata left the company, Ncell went back to its previous domain name ncell.com.np. Previously, the company used the subdomain and titled its website ncell.axiata.com. Now, the telco’s official website is ncell.com.np. At the moment, both domains work and the content appears similar but the former should be the preferred one. As for the Ncell app, so far, the company has kept the “old’ logo but that should change soon.

A new beginning for the private telco
Much has been said about Axiata’s exit from Ncell. In late 2024, the Malaysian telco giant announced that it reached a deal to sell its entire shares (80%) in Ncell to Spectrelite UK citing a challenging business environment. This has led to several questions about Ncell’s future, and the integrity of Axiata’s procedure to sell its equity stakes.
Additionally, there’s also a talk of bringing the company under state ownership. But amidst all the heresy, the company has expressed earnest desire and commitment to continue providing high-quality services to the customers. The company’s change in the brand logo hints at its will and sheer determination to provide telecom services as it has promised.
Ncell is Nepal’s only private telecom company in active service. Its 4G mobile service is one of the significant drivers of Nepal’s digital transformation. The telco is also ready for the 5G trial.
