Several Nepal Telecom (NTC) users complained of facing the issue of the mobile call through VoLTE throughout the country on Chaitra 8, 2079, Morning (March 22, 2023). It’s reported that the issue was noticed on the telco’s VoLTE network which didn’t let subscribers make or receive calls. Engineers though quickly intervened and resolved the nagging issue. But other services were running smoothly, during the short network disruption on the VoLTE network.
Short for Voice Over LTE, Ntc launched VoLTE on March 17, 2021. The service unlocks the ability for subscribers to make HD voice and video calls over the coveted 4G cellular network. After seven months, Ntc made it commercially available on its 18th anniversary day with support for a wider range of smartphones from various brands. The popular call feature has barely made news for network disruption, however, today was an exception.
Regarding the problem on Wednesday, Shobhan Adhikari, a Spokesperson for the company said, “There is a problem in the VoLTE Core Network, but there is no issue in other services such as 2G, 3G, and 4G. We are trying to resolve the issue”. Currently, the service is back to its full function.

Fixes for the Ntc VoLTE call issue
The problem was noticed by only the VoLTE-activated customers. So, there are a few fixes. Disabling VoLTE from the phone’s Settings temporarily or waiting for the telco to solve it. Thankfully, the problem did not linger for long.
Nepal Telecom has published a notice on its Facebook page, informing its customers of the problem while apologizing for the network issue. If you are still facing the VoLTE call problem on your phone, the company recommends that you restart your device. This should do the trick.
Ntc’s VoLTE is already a popular choice among its subscriber base. In just a year, it has garnered over one million VoLTE users. The major advantage of VoLTE is that you can continue to enjoy HD voice calls while also using 4G internet on your phone. It’s not possible on a legacy 3G network.
