WorldLink has successfully completed its first edition of the “Beat the Speed” campaign. Seeking to find the fastest bowler from across Nepal, the campaign saw Pradip Jaiswal winning with his 125 km/h delivery.
The two-month running campaign started on May 02 (Baisakh 20) to find top bowlers from 18 cities and selected 7 contestants for the ultimate round in Kathmandu. The ISP ran its campaign in Itahari, Biratnagar, Dharan, Bardibas, Birgunj, Hetauda, Kathmandu, Chitwan, Bhairahawa, Lumbini. Butwal, Pokhara, Ghorahi, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, Mahendranagar, etc.
In the final round, all seven candidates Pradip Jaiswal (19), Rahul Kumar Yadav (14), Ayush Oli (17), Milan Luitel (27), Sandesh Thapa (21), Rabi Damai (15), and Ayush Dwariya (17) displayed their strongest bowling skills. Likewise, the judges evaluated the players on their running style, ball release, speed, gathering, and other factors.
The participants received special training at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground from Nepal A team head coach Gyanendra Malla and bowling coach Kalam Ali.
The ISP says that the campaign saw the participation of over 2,000 youths trying their fastest deliveries. If you are unaware, WorldLink is an official connectivity partner for CAN and ensures broadband facilities for Nepali cricket.

WorldLink Beat the Speed: Winner and Top Bowlers
In its inaugural Beat the Speed campaign, Pradip Jaiswal became the winner with 125 km/h bowling speed. In the final, participants Sandesh Thapa and Rajul Kumar Yadav bowled 122 km/h and 121 km/h deliveries, respectively.
The winner Jaiswal has bagged more than a winner’s tag and cash prize. He has earned a lifetime opportunity to train at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, India.
Likewise, Yadav with 121 km/h speed received sound plaudits from the spectators. His bowling style drew comparison with Sri Lankan fierce bowler Lasith Malinga. In the meantime, another top contestant Rabi Damai was honored as an ‘emerging talent’ with a cash prize.

The campaign which was also started to support Nepal’s Men Cricket Team for their T20 World Cup campaign not only provided an important platform to budding cricketers but also highlighted the potential of Nepal to produce world-class fast bowlers.

Worldlink and CAN are firm on promoting new cricketing talents and inspiring new heroes of the sport. The ISP says that it will continue the campaign in the coming years.
