Apple’s iPhone is the most popular phone in the world but its hefty price makes general people wary of their wallet. The phone is available in cheaper price by the operators in US and other countries with 2 years contract whereas it is expensive to buy without an contract. Such contract policy was never implemented here in Nepal, barring people to buy such phones in cheaper price.
Ncell the leading private operator of Nepal has brought iPhone to its customers through bundling its service, and payment on monthly basis. In an event at Kathmandu on Friday, Ncell launched the three versions of the latest iPhone: iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus with different memory namely 16 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB.
The price of the smartphone iPhone 6, 16GB is made at Rs 83,999, 64 GB at Rs 94,999 and the 128 GB at Rs 107,999 whereas the phablet iphone 6 plus 16 GB version is priced at Rs 94,999, 64 GB at Rs 107,999 and 128 GB at Rs 120,999 which is subject to change as per the rise and fall of USD.
For the sales of iPhone from their Ncell centre counters at Krishna tower, Durbarmarg, Maharajgunj, Kumaripati, Chabahil, Kalanki and Banepa, they will be giving 1GB data free per month for 6 months. Ncell has also made iPhone 5S available to the customers which will entail 500 MB free per months for six months.The phones are also made available on monthly installment (EMI) from banks like Nepal Investment bank, Nabil Bank and Himalaya Bank.
This is the first time iPhone has reached to Nepal on official basis. There was a big rumor for the availability of Cheap iPhones in Nepal through bundling with Nepal Telecom service but that never happened,
