It was in the news that Samsung will kill Note 6 to keep the phablet series in line with Galaxy S Series, hence making the latest phablet to be Note 7. As the latest iPhone to be of the same number, 7 is the number to be counted for some time for now. Now it is official that the Note 7 will be launched on August 2, in Samsung’s unpacked event in New York.
The company while revealing the date, told that the Note 7 will help to reduce confusion and complement Galaxy S7 series phone, by unifying their product portfolio. There has not been any significant announcement for the specifications of the latest phablet.
Leaks and Major Specs So far
But the majority of leaks tell the processor to be Snapdragon 823 or Exynos 8893: slight update from the S7 and S7 Edge phones. The phone will have a 5.7-inch QHD SUPER AMOLED display. The rear camera could be a 12 MP OIS camera with better autofocus and sharp images. We can expect some breakthrough in-camera features, but I could least expect the double rear camera on it. The front camera could be 5 MP or 8 MP. As Samsung Galaxy S7 has one of the best cameras in a phone today, the same or slight improvement in Note 7 will do the trick.
The 6 GB RAM rumor may come true for the phablet, along with 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB of internal storage. Considering the popularity of the external SD card slot in Galaxy S7, it is almost sure to include which was not there is Note 5: the predecessor. The major leaks to suggest, sporting an iris scanner in the front for much more advanced biometric locks, making it the first Samsung device to include it.
It seems the invitation image has something to do with this feature. It is more likely to include a USB type C port for fast charging as it was missing in the S7 and S7 edge. The device could be curved on both sides as it is in the S7 Edge phone. As they have talked about the unification of their product line and reducing confusion, two or more variants (other than the storage capacity) is unlikely.
More features of Samsung Note 7
The Note 7 device is also IP68 certified water and dust resistant. Much of the features, device looks, and design are expected to be the same as the Samsung S7 Edge. New S-pen Stylus is speculated to come with the device, with a new revamped TouchWiz UI over the latest Android OS. The battery size could be bumped up to 4000 mAh along with the wireless charging feature.
Along with those leaks, Evan Blass has additionally shared the device pictures which shows the devices may come in black onyx, silver titanium and blue coral colors.
