Federation of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) has organized a new event called COMMTECH which is dedicated to communication technologies and solutions. According to them, the event has started showcasing mobile solutions, Computer Hardware & Software solutions, Telecom, ISP, Broadband and Cable TV, Wireless, Banking solutions for business promotion, exhibition and education purpose. The event has started from today and will remain into operation till September 11, 2016. Venue of the program is Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall. Ticket price is Rs 50 for normal people and Rs 25 for students.
The event looks like a miniature of the CAN info tech exhibition, also majority of the exhibitors and organizers are the same as that of CAN info tech. As it is mentioned to be a specific for communication technologies, we did not find any remarkable featuring of such solutions there.
Nepal Telecom has also installed a stall over there which is one of the most crowded stall inside. It was due to the availability of NT prepaid SIM card at Rs 50 with 50 Rupees balance. You can get the SIM card by filling a form there, with a photo and copy of your identification.
Other exhibitors include Samsung, ZTE, Subisu, World link, Web Surfer which are promoting their products and solutions. It is also known that ZTE is going to launch AXON 7 smartphone here in Nepal soon. All the procedure has been already started to bring the phone here in Nepal but they cannot specify the exact date which could be one to two months.
One exhibitor we come across is a person who is selling products to reduce the effect of mobile radiation effect. We had a small argument with him regarding the proof of the radiation effect from phones. He cited the Indian TV channel NDTV for the proof which we could not agree. We warned him of not to promote such baseless rumors for the unproven effect. We were even surprised how could an organization like CAN not filer out the stall for such unproven stuff.
We even did a live video broadcast from the event in our Facebook page. You can watch that video in the page.
Here are some of the photos from the event.
