Huawei, the Chinese handset and telecom manufacturer has unveiled its latest smartphone in the premium Mate series range. The phone Mate 9 is the successor to Mate 8 phone. Mate 9 has a 5.9 inch Full HD display and same dual lenses from Leica as in P9. The phone even comes with a fast charging feature “supercharge” that can provide the battery juice to stand for a day in 20 minutes. The phone runs by Huawei’s own Kirin 960 Octa core processor.
The smartphone comes with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB memory space and runs EMUI 5.0 over the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS. The premium looks come from unibody metal frame, thin bezel and round corners.
As said earlier, the phone has two lenses in the rear, one 20 MP and another 12 MP lens, of F 2.2 both having OIS, phase detection and laser auto-focus and dual LED flash. The front camera is of 8 MP, F 1.9. The camera in the phone takes amazing pictures, with better low light picture, Bokeh photography and 4K video. The smartphone has a 4,000 mAh high density battery having fast charging feature. There are several colors of the phone, which are from Black, Space Gray, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown to Ceramic White Colors.
The phone will be first available in 12 counties including China, France, Germany, Japan, Spain and later be available to US. There will be a higher end variant of the phone named Porsche Design. The P9 Porsche design comes with 6 GB RAM, 256 GB memory and slightly smaller display 5.5 inch.
The phone has Hybrid dual Nano SIM slots and USB type C reversible type connector. One of the hybrid SIM slot can also double as Micro SD slot. The Mate 9 costs $776 whereas the Mate 9 Porsche design costs $1500. We remember their grand launch event of P9 here in Nepal. So we can tell the Mate 9 phone to arrive here, a little later though. It was in Nepal that P9 was launched earlier than India. The price of Mate 9 in Nepal comes to around Rs 83,000 ( from the conversion rate). But it may cost little higher than the converted price.
The phone supports almost all of the bands for 4G LTE. The Mate 9 phone is also a 4G compatible phone to our country Nepal.
