Nepal Telecom has silently updated its official website, www.ntc.net.np from this new year. The new look is quite impressive with that flat design and customer friendly UI. Previously the website has all the information but it was difficult to find. Now that the update has been done, the website is easy for the customers to find the related information.
Firstly, they have separated the pages for individuals and corporate. Though they have few offers for corporate, this makes easy for the respective customers to find the information. Secondly, the services are mostly categorized into PSTN, Internet, GSM, CDMA, Notices and others. The main page also has the latest offering to its subscribers.
Some utilities like Internet speed test (with their own server in Ookla), Online mobile bill, online telephone bill, ADSL self care and Customer feedback / complain are also present there. It seems great that they have incorporated the online feedback complain in their website. Hope they listen to the customer feedback and act as per their demand.
Although the look and feel is quite impressive, the information there are not that updated. Like the one for 3G service, they have mentioned, “To fulfill the ever growing demands and to browse and access the web pages like video based programs (Live TV browsing) NT installed WCDMA based 3G system which offers 384 kbps of downloading and 64kbps of uploading data speed“. Now that we are getting speeds in Mbps with 3G, this is quite old. We suppose this was there from the very first launch of 3G (also being the first in the south east Asia).
Continuing in the same page, we have also found old data in 3G coverage and planning. It says altogether only 60 sites on-aired, all over the country. Which seems not true.
Some of the pages are still not available. It seems they are working on it for the full launch. With some update in the information and the change in some layouts, the website will be highly informative to its subscribers.
Please have a look in the website and do let us know how do you feel about the update.
