Ntc (Nepal Telecom), the government owned telecom operator has established Information Communication Technology ICT center in six most earthquake affected districts. Ntc is providing all the required equipment along with computer, printer and the internet service of 30 GB data volume per month for the ICT center for 2 years period.
Six Ntc ICT centers in Earthquake affected areas.
The six ICT centers established by Ntc in Earthquake affected areas are:
- Sharada High School, Pyauli, Bhojpur
- Ratnachundeshwor High school, Panimunde, Banepa
- Sagarmatha secondary school, Okhaldhunga
- Kanyadevi elementary School, Kalyanpur, Nuwakot
- Setidevi Secondary school, Salu, Ramechhap
- Jiwan Jyoti secondary School, Nel, Solukhumbu
In the FY 2072/ 2073, Ntc had already established 5 ICT centers before:
- Pashupati Kanya secondary school, Charikot, Dolakha
- Gyanmandir Namuna Secondary School, Melchaur, Sindhupalchowk
- Dasarathchanda secondary school, chetreDeurali, Dhading
- Rasuwa higher secondary school, Dhunche, Rasuwa
- Bindrawati higher secondary school, Masel, Gorkha
As a part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR), the company had earlier decided to establish ICT center in Earthquake affected 11 districts among the 14 districts. The list of districts also excludes Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts. The most earthquake affected districts are: Nuwakot, Kavrepalanchowk, Okhaldhunga, Ramechhap, Solukhumbu, Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Dhading, Rasuwa, Gorkha and Bhojpur. Ntc had planned earlier to provide all the materials to establish ICT center in a school in each district.
The ICT center in those co-operative schools will help students and teacher access to internet for information sharing and teaching-learning process.
