When will Uber or Ola taxi service be available in Nepal?

We can not tell exactly when the Uber and Ola taxi services will be available here in Nepal. As the news for Uber launch in Nepal is more older, we can expect them to come here soon. But you never know, if Ola from the nearest neighbor India be here first. More or less the same kind of environment in this part of the world may favor Ola cab to adjust their service easily here.

Taxi, Smartphone and Sharing economy in Nepal

Considering the smartphone penetration and cellular data usage, sharing economy is also getting popular in Nepal. Among the various sharing online means, Hamrobazar.com is already one of the popular second hand item buying website in Nepal. Sharing economy also helps people to access goods and service, that was previously in-accessible and in-affordable. These taxi ride apps are also another form of sharing economy that may change the way people ride taxi here in Nepal.

We have already posted or assembled some of the taxi apps, ride sharing apps here in Nepal. If Uber or Ola come here anytime soon, it will be a breakthrough in the current scenario of the online taxi cab calling and paying service. Among them, the taxi bike app called Tootle is quite popular considering the availability of bikes in different parts of the Kathmandu.

Rumor has it that Uber service be first available for pickup and drop in Tribhuvan International Airport. But it is for sure, both the apps will be first available in the capital city and then depending on the success, it will reach other cities.
