Popular taxi services like Uber and Ola are known to come to Nepal. As per the latest reports from different medias, these taxi ride sharing apps and service are eyeing Nepalese market to avail their services. They are currently analyzing the feasibility of their taxi cab services in at least capital city Kathmandu. After which, Uber Ola taxi service may reach here in the capital city Kathmandu.
Uber is an American technology company, popular for their car transportation mobile apps and service. It is being available throughout 633 major cities of the world. Apart from the taxi service, Uber Tech Inc also owns Otto, an American company for self driving transportation, especially self driving trucks in the highway. In south Asia, Uber already operates in India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh.
Ola, is an Indian cab service provider and is being operational in 110 cities across India. As a part of their entrance to international markets, they are eyeing Srilanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and North African countries.
When will Uber or Ola taxi service be available in Nepal?
We can not tell exactly when the Uber and Ola taxi services will be available here in Nepal. As the news for Uber launch in Nepal is more older, we can expect them to come here soon. But you never know, if Ola from the nearest neighbor India be here first. More or less the same kind of environment in this part of the world may favor Ola cab to adjust their service easily here.

Considering the smartphone penetration and cellular data usage, sharing economy is also getting popular in Nepal. Among the various sharing online means, Hamrobazar.com is already one of the popular second hand item buying website in Nepal. These taxi ride apps are also another form of sharing economy that may change the way people ride taxi here in Nepal.
