Digital wallet Khalti android app has crossed 1 Lakh (100,000) user downloads. The app hit the milestone shortly after one year of its launch in the Nepali market. The recent growth comes after company’s ‘refer-and-earn’ offer that has become an internet sensation in Nepal recently. This offer allows existing Khalti user to refer a non-khalti user to sign up and use Khalti. One can earn up to Rs. 5000 in this process.
Downloads of Khalti in iOS
Similar to the Android app, Khalti’s iOS app is also getting wonderful responses. Its iOS app crossed 10,000 downloads on Saturday, February 24. A similar trend follows in the case of web users.
With the exciting response from users in this very short span of time, Manish Modi, Director of Khalti Digital Wallet, says,
“We are extremely overwhelmed and excited to get love and support from users like this. Never before had a mobile payment app from Nepal gone viral in such a way. Lots of users are loving and trusting us. Now we have lot more responsibility added on us. This, we feel, is a dopamine given us to take Khalti to the next level, and bring lots of services and banks to our platform. We believe that this has marked the starting of the era of cashless economy in Nepal.”
