Xiaomi has launched their 8th-anniversary phones Mi 8, Mi 8 SE along with MIUI 10 and more devices in Shenzhen, China. There were major leaks and rumors for the Mi 8 phone which comes out to be true. Xiaomi Mi 8 phone launches with Snapdragon 845 processor, notched full screen with Always on display and great dual camera. Mi 8 camera has a Dxomark photo score of 105, which is just behind Huawei P20 Pro. Other items launched in the event are MIUI 10, Mi TV 4 75 inches, Mi band 3 and Mi VR standalone device. Xiaomi Mi 8 has 6.21-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen with 18.7: 9 aspect ratio. The screen has now 88.5 % screen to body ratio, that includes a notch at the mid of the top like iPhone X. Snapdragon 845 processor powers the Mi 8 phone, as already expected. Like the premium flagship, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protects the phone’s body.
The phone also includes the dual rear camera of 12MP+12MP with 1.4um pixel size, 4-axis OIS, dual-pixel autofocus and AI scene detection. While the front camera is a 20MP shooter with 1.8um massive pixels, F/2.0 aperture. AI portrait and AI beautify also equips the front camera of the phone. The camera specs and AI capability is known to provide excellent photography experience even in low light conditions. There is also an infrared lens in the notch for the face unlock. As already leaked, the phone has dual frequency GPS that gives you accurate positioning than before. It is also the first phone with such capability.
Mi 8 phone has either 6 GB of RAM along with storage options of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB.
Talking about camera benchmarks, the phone gets 105 scores in Dxomark photo benchmark and the general score of 99. The photo benchmark is just behind Huawei P20 Pro whereas the general score is same as that of Samsung Galaxy S9.
MI 8 EE
They also launched an Explorer edition of Mi 8 with transparent glass back, 3D face unlock and under display fingerprint scanner. It is also the first Android smartphone to have 3D face unlock. Mi 8 SE
Mi 8 Special Edition is a smaller version of the Mi 8 with different processor and capabilities. Well, this phone happens to be a mid-range smartphone, which is against people’s speculation for the special 8th-anniversary attraction. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 710 which is a global debut in any phones. The phone has got a 5.88-inch FHD+ AMOLED display along with the top notch. Talking about RAM and storage, it has got 4GB and 6 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage which is now a minimum storage option for all upcoming phones.
In the camera department, Mi 8 SE has dual rear cameras of 12MP+ 5MP with AI and enhanced low-light photography.

Xiaomi launches Mi TV 4 in 75 inches screen size. The gorgeous TV is an ultra-thin smart TV with AI voice assistant.
Mi band 3
The third edition of Xiaomi’s wearable fitness band Mi band 3 is here. Mi band 3 comes with a bigger screen of 0.78 inch OLED so that you can view your message and also answer calls. The band is fully waterproof up to 50m, allowing to use it while swimming. It has also got motion tracking and health management system that goes well with Mi fitness tracker app.
Mi VR standalone
Xiaomi has collaborated with leading VR company Oculus for this standalone VR device. Normally, in other VR lens, we need to put a phone inside it. But here you don’t have to as it has got screen and processor itself. The standalone name itself suggests that function. The device includes Snapdragon 821 processor, 2k fast switch screen and over 1000 Oculus optimized games.
Price
Regarding the price, the base version of Mi 8 costs ¥2699 ($420). Whereas the explorer edition of Mi 8 costs ¥3699 ($578). Similarly, the Mi 8 SE 4 GB version costs ¥1799 ($300) and 6 GB version costs ¥1999 ($335).
Among other Xiaomi devices launched, the price of Mi TV 4 75 inch is ¥8999. Mi band 3 costs ¥169 ($26) and the Standalone VR lens costs ¥1488 ($235).
