Overview
Design and Display
Huwaei Y7p flaunts a 6.39’’ Punch Full View display with IPS LCD panel having a 159.8*76.1*8.1mm dimension and a resolution of 720*1520 pixels. The phone has a 90.15% screen-to-body ratio giving a fine border view for an immersive experience. The aspect ratio in the display is 19.5:9.
The display has a punch hole located in the top left corner of the screen, which serves the front camera. Similar punch-hole display was available with flagship phones like Samsung S10 but now it seems like such display will come to midrange phones.
It has a finger sensor at the back along with a triple camera setup arranged vertically. The phone has a bizarre color design which is inspired by unpredictable light and combined with nano-texture technology providing 2.5D effect with light refraction on the back.
Chipset and RAM/Storage
Huawei has a self-developed accelerating engine that performs multiple optimizations bringing a smooth experience to the user.
Huwaei Y7p has powered by Kirin 710F octa-core processor which is the same chipset used in Honor 9X. The phone features 4GB RAM accompanied by 64 GB of internal storage with an expandable storage system up to 521GB using a microSD slot.
Huawei claims the phone has a smooth performance in several kinds of usage scenarios including productivity and entertainment. So, they say the application startup speed improves by 19% and the system operation fluency gets better by 27%.
Camera
In the 21st century, we all love to capture our lovable experiences and for this, we require the camera which could accommodate our needs. Huwaei suggests this phone use as your personal photo studio.
The phone is privileged with a triple rear camera that is arranged vertically. It has 48 MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8 which can capture photos even in low lighting situations. Other sensors in the rear camera are 8MP ultra-wide-angle (120 degrees) camera and 2MP depth camera which helps to capture fine detail providing clarity to your pictures.
Huawei says they have improved the night mode in the phone and supports other modes like portrait mode, HDR mode for backlit photography.
The phone consists of an 8MP selfie camera with aperture of f/2.4. The front camera also supports the AI algorithm that chooses the dynamic settings for the best capture.
Huwaei Y7p has AI photography feature which is capable of identifying 500+ scene and 21 categories allowing everyone to click perfect picture. Apart from the AI feature, the phone is also featured with a handheld night mode system which allows you to click clear night pictures without a tripod.
Battery
The phone has a 4000 mAh powerful battery which can last video playback for 22 hours, music playing for 111 hours or web surfing for 20 hours helping you to take tension of power bank or battery backup. The phone lacks a fast charger as we have to charge it through a micro-USB port. Whereas the AI-based power-saving algorithm does the trick in saving the battery life for longer.
The phone also has a fingerprint sensor at the back to secure the phone. There is a 3.5 mm audio jack at the bottom of the device.
Huwaei Y7p has a smart gallery searching system which helps you to find the specific photos in a second. You can also set up a video ringtone for your friends with which the video plays during incomings calls.
Software
The smartphone runs with the help of Huawei’s EMUI 9.1 software that is built over Android 9 AOSP along with the Huawei Mobile service (HMS) which is its own ecosystem.
EMUI 9.1 software provides users more convenience regarding photo storage or songs along with playing games without hiccups.

Price and Availability
Huawei Y7p is available in all retail stores in Nepal now with a price of Rs. 23,990 for 4GB/64GB variant. The phone comes in two colors, classic Midnight Black and unique Aurora Blue looking shinning with the glare effect.
Looking at the specs sheet available, the phone seems to be a little expensive. Comparing this phone with Redmi Note 8 at a similar price, Redmi Note 8 has gorilla glass protection, quad camera, an FHD+ display, fast charging, and a 6GB RAM variant.
When we compare Huawei Y7P with Realme 5 (of the similar price), Realme 5 has a quad camera, gorilla glass protection, and 13 Mp front camera. Huawei Y7p has a special AI photography system, night mode feature and smart gallery searching feature which Redmi Note 8 and Realme 5 lacks. Huawei Y7p looks better due to the punch-hole display than that of teardrop notch in RN8 and Realme 5. This is the main USP of this device if you are attracted to such a full-view display at an affordable price. But you have to accept the fact that the phone’s display only supports HD (720p).
Similarly, comparing to similarly priced Samsung A30s, Huawei Y7p is better in terms of higher resolution camera, better 12nm processor while the A30s has a type C port and Under display fingerprint sensor.

Although the phone lacks GMS (Google mobile service) preventing you from downloading apps from Google play store, you can do find all of the features including the App Store from Huawei’s own platform/ecosystem. It is just a matter of time when you become familiar with those Huawei Mobile services (HMS).
