Targeting the greatest festival of Nepal ‘Dashain’, Xiaomi has launched its new #CelebrateDashainwithMi campaign. Under this, they have launched Redmi SonicBass Wireless Earphone, among many accessories arrived lately. It directly competes with Oppo M31 Wireless earphones because of its neckband design. I have got my hands on to this wireless earphone for some days. Neckband Design and Fit
Redmi SonicBass isn’t true wireless like Redmi Buds S or Mi AirDots but rather features a Neckband design. It has IPX4 certification which makes it safe from dust/water and sweat. The quality of the wire that connects buds with the neckband is really good. There are three control buttons and a LED indicator on the left side of the neckband.
The buds have silicone tips that are super soft and are an in-ear design made. It goes deep into ear canal sealing to give a better fit and better sound quality. The sealing is so good that it doesn’t even get misplaced while jogging. But I felt it was being misplaced slowly while sprinting. The buds have a magnet that enables them to get to attached.
I even used it in the gym while working out. I had no problem while lifting weights. But while doing an exercise where it required little jumps, the neckband would also jump raising uncomfortably. I used it for hours and it never hurt my ear as other earphones did. The buttons are also easy to reach and the finishes are Matte type which is just what you want.
Superior Sound Quality And Performance
The sound quality is just wowing. The superior sound quality with Pro bass is a blessing for music lovers. Xiaomi hasn’t disclosed the drivers used but it doesn’t raise that much concern when the sound quality is this good.
The bass is punchy and the company claims that they have custom-tuned these earphones to deliver more heavy bass tones. On top of this, the sealing of the ear canal by silicone tips makes the music experience even better. There is no complaint when it comes to sound quality.
But the experience would have been better if the music would pause or the earphone would go off while both earbuds are attached to each other. You are offered with Voice controls along with control buttons. Environmental Noise Cancellation is also there which is nothing but the isolation that silicone tips do while jamming ear canals. Battery and Connectivity
The battery of the Redmi SonicBass enables it to deliver continuous music playback for 12 hours straight. I haven’t been able to use it for that long but I never charged it since it took it out from the box. I charged it after 3 days and it never prompted battery low. It was impressive. It has a MicroUSB port for charging.
When it comes to connectivity, this wireless earphone is dope in it. It features Bluetooth 5.0 with strong connectivity. Once you pair it with a device, afterward it connects to that device automatically but in a super-fast way. It’s like on and connected in a blink. I left my mobile in my room and went to another room while listening and the music never stopped. The connectivity is that strong in this earphone.
Dual Pairing technology is embedded in it. It can connect to two devices at a time and can switch between devices automatically in ease or stay active on both. It also has dual noise-canceling mics to deliver crisp and clear audio experience while on call. The sound clarity on the call is good as it must be.

Our Verdict
Buying this Wireless earphone seems like a good idea. But if you want to go higher the budget (almost double or triple times), you can go for other true wireless earphones like Realme Buds Air and Realme Buds Air Neo. Cashing on Redmi SonicBass is also not a bad deal though. IPX4 certification, Superior Call Quality, Badass Battery, Crisp Call experience, all these worths every penny. You can use it casually while working out, in the gym, and everywhere without any worry.
