Samsung foldable Phones are surprisingly doing well even though their costs do not favor their sale. Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are the company’s recent foldable devices and come at hefty prices. But despite their initial struggles, Samsung foldable phones are making worthy strides, especially in India where mid-range lineups dominate the smartphone market.
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 come for $999 and $1,800 which keep them among the most premium smartphones hence out of many’s reach. But it doesn’t mean consumers are being indifferent to these. Reports have emerged that despite being a price-conscious market, Samsung’s foldable phones are making a good argument in India.
Sohee Kim, a Bloomberg analyst reported that one day pre-order for Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 stood 2.7 times ahead of Galaxy Note 20 from last year. Foldables making an impact against an established lineup indicates consumers’ newly gained fascination towards an innovative product. Galaxy Note 20 sits between the two foldable in price range and the Galaxy Note 20 base version comes for a cheaper price. However, consumers seemed to lean towards the foldable despite their high costs.
Demands Down To Galaxy Z Flip 3’s Cheaper Price?
India is a marketing hub for smartphones and despite the presence of all high-end devices, mid-range smartphones still make the envious cut. However, the Samsung foldable phones are also showing a strong performance. In India, Galaxy Z Flip 3 is priced at Rs 84,999. This is a far cheaper option against Galaxy Z Fold 3 which comes at an astounding Rs.149,999.
Since there is no individual data for these smartphones, It is safe to assume that the former did better due to its cheaper rate. But still, both of these phones fall in the upper-tier segment and their demands are still against the tides.
