Huawei Connect 2021: Stress On An Open Industry Ecosystem

Huawei’s flagship event Huawei Connect 2021 has kickstarted. The current edition is themed Dive into Digital and will emphasize an open industry ecosystem by incorporating next-gen technologies.

At the event, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman Eric Xu delivered an opening keynote speech titled “Innovating Nonstop for Faster Digitalization”.

This year’s theme Dive into Digital explores the ability of digital technology to integrate with business and industry know-how to address business challenges. It also allows for brainstorming how to stake stakeholders can work together more effectively to foster an open industry ecosystem and further a shared success.

Huawei Connect 2021 will have four keynotes, 5 summits, and 66 sessions. The event will host more than 200 speakers comprising industry visionaries, business leaders, tech experts, and ecosystem partners. Besides, there will be online exhibitions, remote visits to the exhibition halls, and open panel discussions allowing online interaction and one-stop experiences.

The rotating chairman Xu shared that coordinating with industries to help them go digital remains a focal aspect of Huawei‘s broader vision of bringing ‘digital’ to every person and home.

Xu said, “Digital development relies on digital technology. For digital technology to stay relevant, we must continue to innovate and create value. Cloud, AI, and networks are three critical digital technologies.”

He went on to share Huawei’s progress to back up its eco-friendly digital world pointing to its role in enabling low-carbon development, where the whole industry is heading.

He elaborated that Huawei Cloud, has more than 2.3 million developers, 14,000 consulting partners, and 6,000 technology partners. Likewise, it also boasts more than 4,500 services available in the Huawei Cloud Marketplace. All these in just 4 years indicating its rapid evolution as a vital platform for internet companies, enterprises, and governments alike who wish to go digital.

Huawei Launches UCS, A Cloud-Native Service

Xu launched the industry’s first-ever distributed, cloud-native service UCS which is a cloud-native service available on Huawei Cloud. The service will help Huawei provide businesses with a consistent experience while using cloud-native apps. The service will be available without geographical restrictions.

Xu also highlighted Huawei’s way of using digital technology to support less carbon industry. The chairman laid out three key initiatives to contribute to lessening carbon dioxide. He enumerated Huawei’s three key initiatives:

  • Investing and innovating in energy-saving technologies to deliver more energy-efficient ICT products for a low-carbon ICT industry;
  • Investing in innovations where power electronics and digital technologies converge to promote clean energy and the digitalization of traditional energy; and
  • Providing digital technology to help all sectors go digital and low-carbon.

How to Catch Huawei Connect 2021?

Huawei will host the event online from September 23 to October 31. The nine-day event will dive deep into the practical application of next-gen technologies like cloud, AI, and 5G in all industries.

The emphasis will be on how such technologies can make businesses more efficient, competitive, and versatile as the world heads past COVID-19 times.

The event will air via a live stream in 11 languages on Huawei’s corporate website and by its media partners.
