Xiaomi 12X Vs Oneplus Nord 2T 5G
Design and Display
Xiaomi 12X adapts a compact form factor design language with a curved screen. OnePlus Nord 2T 5G on the other hand boasts a common design language with a flat screen. The button placements differ from each other. Xiaomi 12X houses a power key and volume rockers on the left side while OnePlus Nord 2T 5G places volume rockers and an alert-slider on the left and a power key on the right. Here, the alert slider becomes a plus point. Both phones have a glass body, glass back, and aluminum frame but Xiaomi 12X looks more premium with better ergonomics.
Talking about the display, Xiaomi has infused a capable 6.1″ 120Hz AMOLED panel with Dolby Vision and HDR 10+ support. Meanwhile, OnePlus has gone with a 6.43″ 90Hz AMOLED panel with only HDR 10+ support. Xiaomi 12X takes a lead here with Dolby Vision and a better refresh rate. In terms of protection too, it comes with Gorilla Glass Victus as compared to OnePlus Nord 2T’s Gorilla Glass 5.
Xiaomi 12X Camera vs OnePlus Nord 2T 5G Camera
For optics, both devices have gone with a triple camera layout. Xiaomi 12X sports a 50MP primary, 13MP ultrawide, and 5MP TeleMacro lens. OnePlus Nord 2T has a 50MP primary, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP depth sensor. The primary lens is a Sony IMX 766 sensor with OIS on both phones. On the ultrawide section, Xiaomi takes the lead with a better 13MP lens. Also, the 2MP depth camera is just there to fill up the array on the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G. Meanwhile, Xiaomi’s 5MP Telemacro lens is not gimmicky and does its job well. For videos, Xiaomi can do up to 8K 24fps while OnePlus maxes out at 4K 30fps.
For front cameras, both devices have 32MP resolution sensors which can shoot up to 1080p 60fps. There is a Gyro EIS stabilization for selfie videos on both phones.
Snapdragon 870 5G vs Mediatek Dimensity 1300 5G
Xiaomi 12X has an old yet powerful and balanced Snapdragon 870 5G chipset while OnePlus has opted for a newer Mediatek Dimensity 1300 5G chipset. Qualcomm’s SD870 5G is based on 7nm architecture while Dimensity 1300 5G is based on 6nm architecture. So, the battery efficiency should be a bit better on the Nord 2T 5G. Both devices support 5G connectivity.
Snapdragon 870 5G is an Octa-core silicon having the configuration of 1×3.2 GHz Kryo 585 & 3×2.42 GHz Kryo 585 & 4×1.80 GHz Kryo 585 cores. While the Dimensity 1300 boasts 1X Ultra Core: Arm Cortex-A78 up to 3GHz, 3X Super Cores: Arm Cortex-A78 up to 2.6GHz, and 4X Efficiency Cores: Arm Cortex-A55 up to 2GHz. Performance-wise, both chipsets should offer similar performance. Mediatek’s chip is newer than Qualcomm’s. In terms of ISP, both have the support of up to 200MP cameras.

MIUI 13 vs OxygenOS 12.1
Both devices have different OS skin. Xiaomi 12X has MIUI 13 based on Android 11 while OnePlus Nord 2T has OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 11. The software side is a personal preference. MIUI 13 is a feature-rich skin with ample things to tinkle with. On the other hand, OxygenOS12.1 is a polished and light ROM with basic customization options. OxygenOS is a well-known name but the recent ColorOS merge/integration has kind of become a bummer for the ROM too. Still, a ROM closer to stock like OxygenOS should be an ideal choice for minimalist lovers. While for those who prefer customizations and more features, MIUI 13 is a treat.
