Election Commission has called on government agencies to keep communication services intact for the upcoming election on Mangsir 4. The authority alerted that all telecom and communication services shall remain uninterrupted when Nepal goes to vote for the House of Representatives and National Assembly.
The commission has issued a 7-point directive urging Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Nepal Telecom (NTC), private mobile network operators and the communications development projects to maintain or expand their services quickly if necessary.
The service providers and agencies are also requested to keep their services up and running. If necessary, the authority has called on them to give more priority to their services.
By keeping the communication system active for the election, the Election Commission seeks to ensure that the public gets frequent updates regarding the vote counts, vote result, etc.

Election Commission wants digital boards to broadcast updates
The commission has also made arrangements for disseminating information about the upcoming election. To keep the public updated, it has asked all the bodies under federal, provincial, and local governments, development committees, commissions, public institutions, etc. to share election updates via digital boards in their offices. The official election-related updates will be available from the website of the Election Commission, and the official social media profiles. The offices must share updates in such a way that they are easy to read for the people.
The directive also mentions that the informational materials produced under the direction of MoCIT and public welfare ads, and shared by the Election Commission shall be published and broadcast through all print and electronic media.

The government of Nepal has kept telecom services on the list of essential services and tries to keep them intact.
