WorldLink founder Dileep Agrawal has joined Khalti digital wallet in the capacity of its new board member. The 50-year-old IT entrepreneur is now one of the 5 members of the board of the prominent payment service-providing company. Khalti announced Agrawal’s entry to its board on July 21.
If you weren’t aware, the two companies have a direct connection. Khalti has an investment in WorldLink. To be more specific, the private ISP acquired 40% ownership of Khalti back in December 2023.
Manoj Agrawal is currently the board chairman of Khalti who also serves as the director at WorldLink. The post for a new member was vacated after Sanjay Shah left Khalti for Golyan Group.
On the occasion, Khalti warmly welcomed its new board member into the company. The digital wallet wrote:

Dileep Agrawal enters Khalti as its new board member
With Dileep Agrawal joining the Khalti board, it will complete the five-member board at the private PSP. The other Khalti board members are Amit Agrawal, Manoj Agrawal. Arvind Sah, and Manish Modi.
Agrawal’s entry will expectedly elevate the two entity’s cooperation to new heights. Both are the leading companies in their respective sector with huge customer reach across the country. WorldLink is one of Nepal’s best ISPs in terms of subscribers with over 7.5 lakh users around the country. Khalti, on the other hand, has around 20% market share in the mobile payment sector.
Agrawal founded WorldLink in 1995 at the tender age of 22. In its 28 years of service, the company has not just disrupted the fixed-line internet market but also catapulted itself to the top of the industry. WorldLink today has become a leading ISP popular for its fiber internet and IPTV and its customer services. Khalti though only 6 years old has quickly become a leading name in the mobile payment industry. The digital wallet provides utility payments, top-ups, booking bus and airline tickets, and government payments among other services.
