Jaari is a beautifully weaved love drama between a Limbu couple played by Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar whose life takes a turn when Hangma (Miruna Magar’s character) fails to reproduce even after five years of their marriage and gets abused by husband Namsang (Dayahang Rai’s character). The movie encapsulates the authentic feel of a Nepali couple’s bickering and paints a vivid image of the picturesque hilly region. Jaari, upon its release, was soundly received by critics and audiences and became one of the biggest hits of 2080 with over Rs 17 crores in earnings before being pulled off the theatres. The movie hit the cinemas to roaring acclaim on Baisakh 1, 2080 (April 14, 2023).
Besides the two main leads, the film has Prem Subba, Bijay Baral, Rekha Limbu, Roydeep Shrestha, etc. in various characters. Made under the Baasuri Films banner, the movie is written and directed by Upendra Subba and produced by Rambabu Gurung.
