Nepal Telecom (NTC) has issued a clarifying statement on the sit-in protests taking place on the premises of the Telecom Training and Research Centre, Babarmahal in Kathmandu. Stating that there has been confusion about it among the general public and the media, the telecom giant released a statement clarifying the situation.
In its statement, NTC says that it receives services through bidding with private service provider companies in accordance with prevailing rules/laws for services such as expansion, maintenance, security, cleaning, etc. The company affirmed that during the process, it complies with all the requirements of the bidding process through fixed-time and work-specified Outsourcing.

NTC says that its contract with the previous service provider has already ended
After the contract with the previous service provider ended, NTC has already reached an agreement with another service provider through a competitive bidding process to provide cleaning services at its Telecom Training and Research Centre. NTC reiterates that its contract with the previous private company has already expired.
In the current scenario, the government-backed telecom giant says that the human resources related to the previous service provider company are making various demands outside the premises of the company and staged sit-ins. It has created discomfort in the company’s operations and also created obstacles for the new group of human resources of the new service provider company to carry out their cleaning works in the company’s office.
