Nepal Telecom has expanded its 4G mobile network to Bhoksing village of Parbat. The state-backed telecom company recently on-aired 2G and 4G networks in the remote area which for the first time brings reliable mobile voice and broadband services for the users.
The service went live after the company set up cell towers in Mahashila Rural Municipality, ward no. 2. According to Sunil Paudel, an engineer at Nepal Telecom, the mobile network provides coverage for Bhoksing village and also extends to other nearby areas.
Now, the village has 2G and 4G cellular services enabling the residents, businesses, and tourists to connect easily. 2G is a legacy network and is highly reliable for voice service. 4G, on the other hand, provides a next-generation broadband experience for mobile users.

4G launch in Bhoksing is part of broader plans for Nepal Telecom
This latest 4G service launch in Bhoksing aligns with the company’s aggressive efforts to bring connectivity to remote and rural parts of the country. 4G is the best possible commercial network in Nepal, and the company, with the government’s backing, has been making strenuous efforts to launch it in every corner of the country.
4G though one generation older than 5G, is still a very capable wireless technology. It provides a fast data rate, enabling use cases such as video chat, streaming, smooth web browsing, and faster downloading/uploading of files. 2G though a much older network, also remains vital to bridge the digital divide.
That is to say, with 2G and 4G, people in Bhoksing and nearby areas will get high-quality voice and broadband service enabling them to stay in contact with their family and friends and browse the internet on their mobile devices.
So far, NTC has launched its 4G services across 98 percent of local levels. The company has made it its aim to extend the 4G coverage across the country very soon. This is considered essential and helpful as it seeks to use the same 4G LTE networks for Non-standalone 5G in the future.
