Nepal Telecom (Ntc) has expanded its 4th generation mobile network 4G in Adanchuli Rural Municipality in Humla and Soru Rural Municipality in Mugu. The launch of the high-speed mobile broadband network has delighted the locals. Now, the local levels have access to fast data and VoLTE HD voice services.
With 4G service launch, southern areas of Humla such as Tanjakot, Adanchuli, and Sarkegad now have access to faster mobile data services. Likewise, Soru Rural Municipality of Mugu, and nearby areas are also benefiting from the broadband network. The latest expansion aligns with the company’s 4G launch in remote and rural areas.

Ntc launches 4G network in Adanchuli and Soru Rural Municipalities
Adanchuli Rural Municipality Chairman Mohan Bikram Singh said that the locals have felt relief after the 4G internet and telephone service came into operation in the village. He says that the connectivity now helps with daily works at the office.
Keshar Bahadur Shahi, the vice-chairman of the rural municipality, shared that a 4G tower is installed in Lamakandh has come into operation. He also requested people to inform which areas have received the 4G coverage within the local body.

Ntc also installed a 4G tower in Lamakandh in Soru Rural Municipality Ward No. 3. The tower provides 4G coverage to areas in Tanjakot, Sarkegad, Adanchuli, and nearby areas. The service started on Friday, February 21, 2025.
The tower in Chyam brings 4G service to lower areas in the district. Mahatara Chaur that lies in the middle of Adanchuli and Sarkegad Rural Municipalities will get 4G coverage after the under-construction tower comes into operation.

4G access eases governments and the locals
The 4G service enables better working comfort for the government offices and the people. Previously, the locals had to visit ward offices and municipal offices to make video calls and use the internet. They now get broadband access on their mobile phones at their home. Besides, they can also enable Ntc VoLTE to enjoy HD voice calls. The launch of 4G has brought happiness and delight to the locals.
The local bodies had long made an effort to bring 4G service.
Adanchuli Rural Municipality Chairman Mohan Bikram Singh said that the construction of the Ntc 4G tower begin in 2080. The local level had reached out to the central office of Ntc in Kathmandu attended meetings and coordinated to bring Ntc 4G in the area.
Ntc has continued its 4G expansion works. The launch of the service in Adanchuli and Soru means it is almost reacing 99% local levels with 4G coverage. The company might complete its 4G coverage across Nepal in FY 2081/82.
4G is a key driver of digital transformation and connectivity. Ntc, backed by the government, is playing a key role in expanding modern communication to remote and rural areas. This has helped bridge Nepal’s digital gap and promote digital parity.
