A tender has been announced to sell foreign SIM cards at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. The Civil Aviation Office under the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) at the airport issued a notice today calling for interested parties to submit their interest in running a store to sell foreign SIM cards.
According to the notice, interested individual or organizations can submit their sealed bids (applications) to run a store to sell foreign SIM cards at the nation’s most popular and busy international airport. It means Nepali authorities plan on officially issuing foreign SIM cards for travelers at the airport which translates to higher convenience and time-saving for the buyers.
Likewise, the price of the SIM cards will rely on carriers and the exchange rate at the time of purchase. This will also factor in data plans if applicable.
