Samsung Galaxy M31- the company’s first phone of 2020 in the Galaxy M-series was launched in Nepal amidst the COVID-19 lockdown. The M31 phone is still going strong and Samsung has dropped the price of the phone recently. The handset is an improved and redesigned variant of last year’s M30 and M30s with a much-updated camera. It also comes with OneUI 2 on top of Android 10 out of the box while packing a massive 6,000 mAh battery. Find the Samsung Galaxy M31 Price in Nepal and other detailed features, specs below.
Galaxy M31 Overview
The Galaxy M31 comes with significant improvements over the Galaxy M30 and M3Os. The new phone comes with an improved camera with a 64MP sensor alongside 3 other sensors. The phone also packs a humongous 6000mAh battery which is expected to last for almost two days. There are tiny other upgrades that we will discuss in the detailed segment below.
Design and Display
On the design front, there is not much upgrade over the previous Galaxy M30s. It seems hard to differentiate between the Samsung Galaxy M30s and the Galaxy M31 from the front. M31 comes big 6.4-inch display with a waterdrop notch at the front which holds a tiny front-facing camera. The Infinity U display with thin bezels makes it look beautiful. eek and sits right above the display in the frame of the smartphone. There isn’t a quite distinguishable change to the phone from its predecessor. We can see some changes while looking at the back in the camera module with the addition of the fourth camera.

While it comes to the display, it is similar to that of the Galaxy M30s as well. It ships with a big 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a Full-HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. For protection, Samsung has added the dated Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which helps the device from picking scratches. The display seems to have a good viewing angle at even the outdoors.
Samsung has also launched another M series phone called Galaxy M21 in Nepal.
Performance and Software
The Galaxy M31 is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 9611 SoC and this is also taken from Galaxy M30s. Unlike, Galaxy A41, which has got MediaTek SoC, M31 got a home-brewed Exynos 9611. It is based on an octa-core processor – 4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4×1.7 GHz Cortex-A53. The chipset is coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Don’t worry you’ll get an expandable storage option up to 512GB with an external SD card.
For the software, the phone runs on recently launched OneUI 2.0 on top of Android 10. The software is similar to what we have seen on the recently launched Galaxy Note10 Lite and Galaxy S20 series phones.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy M31 cameras are improved as compared to that of M30s. There are four cameras at the back and a single selfie camera at the front. There is a 64-megapixel primary shooter with f/1.8 aperture. Although it is a 64MP shooter, the final shots are binned to 16MP shots by default. Don’t worry you still have an option to the shooter at full resolution by selecting the 64MP shots on the menu.
The second lens is the 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera with a 123-degree field of view (FOV) having an aperture of f/2.2. The third and the fourth sensors are the depth sensor and the macro sensor. There are a 5-megapixel depth sensor and a 5-megapixel macro camera that sits in a rectangular camera bump at the back. For the selfies, there is a 32MP shooter at the front which is capable of shooting 4K videos and even has HDR. While it comes to the camera app, it is the same as we find in other previous Samsung devices.

Battery, Connectivity, and Others
Another big highlight of this smartphone is its huge battery that is expected to last more than a day or even for two days on a single charge. For this, Samsung has embedded a massive 6,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. For this huge battery, 15W charging speed doesn’t seem to be fast enough so Samsung should rethink this in the next editions. There is a USB Type-C fast charger in the box and also a 3.5mm jack on the device.
The phone has dual SIM compatibility with 4G support on both SIM cards. Regarding the 4G band, the phone supports both the bands; band 3, and band 20 that are available in Nepal. There is also a fast fingerprint scanner at the back.
