Honor 50 Lite is the rebranded version of the Huawei Nova 8i. The smartphone was announced back in October 2021 globally. It arrives with amazing specs & features like 6.67″ HONOR FullView Display, snapdragon 662 SoC, 64 MP quad camera, 66W fast charging, and more.
Design/Display
Taking off with the design of the Honor 50 Lite, the smartphone comes with a beautiful design. The smartphone has a dimension of 161.8 × 74.7 × 8.5 mm and weighs only 192 grams. The phone has a 3D closed arc design that helps to provide better grip while using it. It also has a pill-shaped cutout at the top corner on the front that houses the selfie camera. The smartphone comes in various color options namely deep sea blue, space silver, and midnight black.
The Honor 50 Lite features a large 6.67 inches FHD TFT LCD HONOR FullView Display along with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2376 pixels. It comes with the support of a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The device has a 94.4% Screen-to-Body Ratio, DCI-P3 Wide Color Gamut, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ back, and 391 PPI density. For biometrics, there is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a software-based face unlock system.
Camera
Now, moving on to the optical features of the smartphone, Honor 50 Lite sports a quad-camera setup at the rear with a circular camera module. It consists of a 64 MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera with 120° Field Of View & f/2.4 aperture, a 2 MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. While on the front, the Honor 50 Lite houses a single 16 MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture to snap gorgeous selfies & videos.
As for the videography aspect of the smartphone, both the rear cameras and the front camera are capable of recording videos up to 1080p@30fps.
Honor 50 Lite Performance
Powering the Honor 50 Lite is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 Chipset which also runs Oppo A95. It is an octa-core processor based on 11nm processing technology that is equipped with an octa-core CPU with a maximum clock speed of up to 2.0 GHz. As for graphics, it has a powerful Adreno 610 GPU. you might be disappointed with SoC, but it is not bad though.
In terms of the memory configuration, the device is coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128 internal storage options onboard. Sadly we don’t get an extended memory card slot to expand the storage. On the software front, the Honor 50 Lite runs on Magic UI 4.2 based on Android 11 OS. Fortunately, the phone comes pre-installed with Google Mobile Services (GMS) outside of China.
Battery and Connectivity
As for the battery prowess of the smartphone, the Honor 50 Lite gets its juices from a large Non-removable 4,300mAh (typ) battery. The smartphone also comes with the 66W Super Fast Charging support. Honor claims that it provides up to 16 hours of web browsing, 8 hours of video calling, and 7 hours of gaming. The brand also says the phone takes only 10 minutes to charge from 0 % to 40 % of the battery. It has a USB Type-C 2.0 to charge the device.
